German-inspired food at this year’s event will include bratwurst, sauerkraut, hot dogs for the kids, and the crowd-pleaser – chewy pretzels (sweet and savory). We will also have hot dogs and German potato salad. Volunteers from Holy Comforter Lutheran Church and the Holy Smokers will put their spin on this year’s Oktoberfest fare.

The Kingwood Oktoberfest will feature HCLC booths and demonstrations for the whole family to enjoy. There is plenty to do for the kids with games, activities, and face painting. This year we are also adding a Vendor Market! Click here for details.

Admission this year is $8 for adults and $3 for children. Games, rides, activities, music, and dancing are included in the admission fee. Food this year will be a la carte and reasonably priced to help you stay on a budget.

We will have DECA beer on tap as well as water, soda, hard cider, seltzers, and juice bags for the kids. So, come out and support a  Kingwood tradition – The Kingwood Oktoberfest. Click here for ticket sales.

2024 Costs 

Tickets $8 for adults & $3 for children

$8 – Meal (2 Dogs or Brat on a bun w/Potato Salad)

$5 – 2 hot dogs with buns (mustard, relish, sauerkraut)

$5 – Pretzels, Bratwurst on a bun (mustard, relish, sauerkraut)

$5 – Beer (12 oz.)

$3 – Side of Potato Salad

$1 – Water, Coke, Bake Sale Goods

The Kingwood Oktoberfest will have a Vendor Marketplace as part of this year’s event. We will feature up to 22 vendor booths from the community for your shopping pleasure! Number of Booths

              10 Inside – 8’ x 10’

              11 Outside – 9’ x 16’

Space Availability – Spaces are not guaranteed until paid for by October 1, 2024

              First Come, First Serve basis – No Electricity Available

              Vendors must supply their tents, chairs, and tables

              $75 Donation per space – no refunds

Tables must be covered, booths must be in good taste with no rude, explicit or offensive items, no profanity or sexual items or objects including race, political, or inappropriate gestures. Holy Comforter reserves the right to exclude such items.

Food or Beverage Vendors

          No “ready to eat or drink” products except those offered by HCLC

          Vendors with canned, bottled, or packaged products for off-site consumption must have a proper food license

Vendors are responsible for collecting their payments, taxes, etc.

Vendor Passes – 2 per purchased space and must be worn at all times and returned to the vendor coordinator at the end of the market

Vendor Set-up and Take-down

        Friday, 10/18 – 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm

        Saturday 10/19 – 7:30 am – 10:30 am

        Booths must be ready for business Saturday morning by 10:30 am

        Booths must be open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm with no early teardown

        Vendors will be directed to areas for loading and unloading

Space Donations – All payments are due by October 1, 2024

       Checks – payable to Holy Comforter Lutheran Church and mailed or delivered to 1901 Woodland Hills Dr., Kingwood, TX 77339, attention Christy Janacek.

Receipts for Space Donations will be provided on the day of the event. If paid online, please bring a copy of your online payment and bring it to the event.

Our marketing mix for The Kingwood Oktoberfest is a combination of targeted paid online and print advertisements as well as local and regional media coverage. We also invest in newsletter placement and social media promotion. We also focus heavily on grassroots promotions such as yard, street, and neighborhood signage placement, flyer and poster distribution in and around the community, and day-of-event sponsor announcements. The coverage expands each year as we continue to grow our brand and presence in the community.

This year, we have more than we can easily recap in a binder, so we have uploaded the data and tearsheets to an online venue within The Kingwood Oktoberfest’s website. We are thankful for our sponsors both past and present and look forward to working together again next year.

The TKO Sponsor Banner was featured on the Holy Comforter website, the Kingwood Oktoberfest Website, printed in a hanging banner format for the event, and made into posters featured at Holy Comforter for a month leading up to the event and around the campus during the event.

What do The Kingwood Oktoberfest and the Foo Fighters have in common?

Our Sunday (October 15th) Houston Chronicle Zest TKO Zest ad was placed with the big concert review article about the Foo Fighters Houston show. The Foo Fighters are a 15-time Grammy Award-winning band and are well-known as one of the greater rock bands to arise out of grunge’s ashes. The Kingwood Oktoberfest was voted one of the top ten events in Kingwood in its inaugural year.

This year will be the third annual costume contest for The Kingwood Oktoberfest! We were pleased that more and more people are showing up in Oktoberfest gear each year. This year The Kingwood Oktoberfest Costume Contest is at 3 p.m. We will have a contest for both kids and adults. Prizes provided by The Cove, Toys and Candy on the Park and more! We will have an entry form coming soon or you can fill one out when you get to the event. DJ Rick will make an announcement around 3 p.m. calling for contestants. Holy Comforter Lutheran Church staff and council leaders will judge the contest this year.

Last year’s Children’s Competition (no one entered that had an Oktoberfest Costume, so we just went with it and it was adorable!)

The 2024 Kingwood Oktoberfest is just around the corner!  In addition to great German-inspired food, drink, and music, we’ll have our popular children’s area with games and activities!  This year we will have face painting, craft stations, multiple inflatables with climbing walls and slides, and much more! Fun for the whole family!

This year we are once again offering German-inspired food a la carte. So, you can get a pretzel, a bratwurst on a bun with sauerkraut (or not), potato salad, and hot dogs for the kids. After you’ve had your fill of German food and beverage, sit back and enjoy Polka music courtesy of The Texas Sound Check Band, or take a turn on the dance floor! The Kingwood High School German Club returns to show off their German dance renditions in traditional costumes.  Both groups are providing their special entertainment for the seventh year. The event will be from 11 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. DJ Rick will join us again to play your favorite tunes between sets and after the band packs up.

Formerly the City Polka Boys, The Texas Sound Check Band has been a staple in the Texas Polka community for more than four decades.
